Nepal's administrative divisions ( Development Regions) divides Nepal in five parts: the Eastern Region (Purwanchal), the Central Region (Madhyamanchal), the Western Region (Pashchimanchal), the Mid-Western Region (Madhya Pashchimanchal), and Far-Western Region (Sudur Pashchimanchal).The largest development region is Mid-Western Region (Madhya Pashchimanchal) with the area of 42,378 sq.km. and the smallest is Far-Western Region (Sudur Pashchimanchal) with the area of 19,539 sq.km. The second biggest the Western Region (Pashchimanchal) with its area 29,398 is followed by the Eastern Region (Purwanchal), 28,456 and the Central Region (Madhyamanchal) with 27,410 sq.km as its area.
