Visa Fees And Extensions
All tourists apart from the Indian citizens must hold passport and valid visa. Indian National can show any identity proof with a photo in it like passport, Registration card, Voters ID and so forth. Visa can be obtained at the Nepalese diplomatic missions and Embassies abroad. Visa is also issued at the entry points. It can be extended at the Department of Immigration, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Visa must be obtained for staying more than three days. Children under 10 years need not pay any visa fee. People willing to get on arrival Visa are required to fill Visa form, possession of valid travel documents, two passport size photographs and relevant fees are essential. First single entry to Nepal for 60 days from the date of entry is US $ 30 or equivalent convertible foreign or Nepali currency. The second entry in the same visa year for 30 days from the date of entry is US $ 30. Multiple entries for one visa year are US $ 50 plus US $ 30 for single entry or equivalent convertible foreign or Nepali currency.
A. Entry Visa
Tourist entry visa can be obtained for certain duration from Nepal Embassy/ Consulate or Mission offices abroad, or at the following immigration offices in Nepal:
• Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu
• Kakarvitta, Jhapa (Eastern Nepal)
• Birganj, Parsa (Central Nepal)
• Kodari, Sindhupalchowk (Northern Border)
• Belhiya, Bhairahawa (Rupandehi, Western Nepal)
• Jamuna, Nepalgunj (Banke, Mid Western Nepal)
• Mohana, Dhangadhi (Kailali, Far Western Nepal)
• Gaddachauki, Mahendranagar (Kanchanpur, Far Western Nepal)
B. Tourist Visa
Multiple entries, 15 days; Fees: US$ 25 or equivalent convertible currency
Multiple entries, 30 days; Fees: US$ 40 or equivalent convertible currency
Multiple entries, 90 days; Fees: US$ 100 or equivalent convertible currency
C. Tourist Visa Extension
Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US $ 30 or equivalent convertible currency and visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$ 2 per day. Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January – December).
D. Gratis (Free) Visa
Gratis visas are provided only for tourists of SAARC Countries for 30 days.
E. Transit Visa
A transit visa can be obtained from Airport immigration or at the entry point of Nepal without any problems upon the production of departure flight ticket via Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, by paying US $ 5 or equivalent convertible currency. There will be no charge for 3 days on presentation of a confirmed air ticket.
F. Business Visa
For foreign investors business visa (with multiple entries) can be obtained from the Department of Immigration for the period of one year or five years upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Industry by paying the equivalent of US $ 100 and US $ 250 respectively in Nepalese currency.
