By Air

Best way to reach Nepal is by air. The Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu is Nepal’s only international airport. Twenty-two different airlines fly between various international cities and KTM, all of them located in Asia and the Middle East. All international flights land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the capital city which is well connected to the major cities of the world such as Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi, Banglore, Mumbai, Dhaka, Paro, Karachi, Frankfurt, Paris, Munich, London, Vienna, Amsterdam, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Doha, Moscow, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Osaka, Shanghai and Lhasa through regular air services. There are few direct flights to Nepal, which means most travellers from Europe, North America and Australia have to change aircraft and/or airline en route.  Some of the important airlines that serve Kathmandu are Indian Airlines, Thai International, Bangladesh Biman, China Southwest Airlines, Druk Air, Qatar Airways, PIA- Pakistan Airlines, Gulf Air, Sahara Ailrlines, Jet Air, Cosmic Air, Silk Air and Etihad Airways.  The national carrier - Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), operates flights to Europe and Japan as well as the regional destinations.
