Details:

The place that marks the beginning of Nepal today, rather the unified Nepal is non-other than Gorkha where the then King Prithivi Narayan Shah was born. Yes, he was the introducer of the Shah Dynasty in Nepal. His palace/Fort is situated at the top of a hill overlooking snowy Himalayas which is also the major attraction in Gorkha.

 

As an ancient perfect example of Nepali architecture, stands the temple of Gorakhnath and Gorakhkali. These holy pilgrimages are often sought by devotees who come from far way just to visit them.

 

For those who are interested in trekking, this is exactly the spot that marks the beginning to Annapurna circuit and Mansalu.

 

Rivers that scale the peaceful land of Gorkha are namely Budhi Gandaki, Marsyangdi, Chepe and Daraudi.

 

Another important fact about Gorkha is the name ‘Gurkha’ that has been given by British to the fighting soldier of this place. Yes, this is the land belonging to the famous ‘Gorkhas’ who are known as Gurkhas to the world.
