Lalitpur, June 6: The Chariot procession of Rato Machchindranath, revered as the God of rain, is coming to an end on Friday with the display of the Bhoto or jewel studded vest.

The bhoto jatra or vest festival is being held as per traditions to display the vest four days after the chariot of Rato Machchindranath arrived at Jawalakhel. This festival is believed to have been observed since the past 1,600 years and usually falls on April-May every year. The Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Heads of Constitutional Bodies, high-ranking government officials and diplomats are also expected at the venue tomorrow, says the Guthi Sansthan, that oversees the celebrations.
