BHAILA DANCE TO BE PERFORMED

The Bhaila dance, a traditional cultural dance that is on the verge of disappearance, is to make a comeback this time.The Bhaila or Bhairav Dance as it is known in the local parlance is customarily performed by the people of the Prajapati community in Madhyapur Thimi of Bhaktapur.
It had been eight years since the dance was last performed. Thanks to the initiation of the locals of Madhyapur Thimi-10 that the people of Bhaktapur are going to see this traditional form of dance performed.This dance is performed a day after the Gaijtra festival and runs for four days. The dance is performed in the night time and there are five performers representing five different deities doing the dance.
